David Vunk is the true beast of the harbour city of Rotterdam and the main man behind the ever-playful Moustache Records. On this fine imprint he drops his own ace tracks and collabs besides a wicked list of West-Coast honchos and synth freaks. Known for his wide collection and graceful skills he’s been rocking records since the early 90’s all over Europe.

Like all the most essential Dutch artists, David Vunk’s no frills, hype-free style is built on his own unique character and understanding. Genre doesn’t matter, and all that concerns him is dance floor impact and connecting with his dancers. This also defines his studio work: a young David picked up his first drum machine in 1986 and progressed to laying down instinctive tunes on his MPC2000 from 1997 onwards. Im Kellar on his own unashamedly floor facing Moustache Records, which he started in 2007. Trouble Tonight on Omni Disc and Omega Strap on Moustache Techno, the sub-label he has run since 2011, best exemplify his range: brain frying electro, stomping technoid funk and searing acid that twists your nerve endings and really makes you sweat. David Vunk, then, connects directly with your inner animal and never lets up.

On support we have Bonzai Bonner, perhaps more colloquially heralded and cheered for as ‘Bonner’ when hammering out Hi-Nrg and Italo in the clubs of Glasgow, has become one of the city’s most influential DJ’s and caretakers. Their approach and work behind the scenes has helped to inspire a new generation of community driven artists, creatives and parties having sought every opportunity to rally for an open minded dance floor and to encourage self expression.

Bonner is the pioneering force behind the infamous LGBTQ+ party Shoot Your Shot - a party which has helped champion leftfield dance and electronic music in Glasgow. The parties are joyous, captivating affairs which always leave revellers with a story or two to tell. Smoky rooms, dimly lit, become the backdrop to a whirlwind extravaganza as Bonner commands dancers through the night with long free flowing mixing. Euphoric highs are paired alongside delicate poignant selections reminiscent of the collective escapism and abandonment they seek to find for themselves upon the dance floor.
