Hailed as "Glasgow's King of Disco" by renowned dj duo Optimo thanks to his ahead of the curve genre bending no boundaries approach to djing during the 90's and having performed alongside all but few of the djing greats that are still with us - legends that include Francois Kervorkian, Daniele Baldelli, Nicky Siano, Danny Krivit & the enigmatic Moodymann - Billy's focus in recent years has been in developing his own personal disco odyssey in the guise of his ‘Supermax' party - the name inspired by the music of Kurt Hauenstein's legendary cult band who's music Billy pioneered so many years ago.

Bucking the trend of the corporate dance music media driven guest DJ circuit - a practice not only hugely detrimental to the development of local scenes but also environmentally unethical & unsustainable given the excessive levels of air travel involved, Supermax is built around the firm conviction that the best clubs & parties are based around resident dj’s & their clientele eg. David Mancuso's Loft, Larry Levan's Paradise Garage, Ron Hardy's Music Box, Frankie Knuckles Warehouse, Baldelli & Mozart's Cosmic Club, Junior Vasquez's Sound Factory, Paul Trouble Anderson's Loft.

High quality audio reproduction is fundamental to any great party and inspired by his meetings with the late great David Mancuso many years ago Billy aims to provide a world class sonic experience with a particular focus on showcasing original 12 inch disco records from the golden age of vinyl mastering. The Supermax sound system, acoustic treatment & sound management is courtesy of Glaswegian club sound system engineer, loudspeaker designer & long-term collaborator Rory Watson of We Enjoy Sound.

Billy was a pioneer in the re-introduction of vintage rotary DJ mixers due to their superior sound quality and was the first dj in the UK to regularly utilise Bozak mixers at his Outer Drive & Supermax events in the early 00's. This includes a DLA and an extremely rare early D model Bozak which was originally owned by legendary disco dj Jim Burgess and installed at 70’s New York discotheque ‘The Ice Palace’ on Fire Island where Jim Burgess & Roy Thode performed.
